- What is FlyPal?

- What is FlyPal CRS ?
FlyPal CRS (Crew Rostering System) is a module within the FlyPal aviation software suite that helps airlines and aviation operators manage crew scheduling, rostering, flight duty time limitations (FDTL), rest requirements and crew training records. It is designed to automate crew planning while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations.
- How is data security and backup handled?
FlyPal’s cloud infrastructure is ISO certified and SOC 2 Type II audited. Data is replicated across three geographically dispersed locations as part of the disaster recovery framework, supporting business continuity if one location is affected.
- Which aircraft or helicopter models does FlyPal support?
FlyPal supports any aircraft or helicopter, regardless of make or model — each can be configured and managed within the system.
- How is user access level controlled?
FlyPal uses role-based access control (RBAC). Administrators assign permissions per user — View, Add, Edit, Delete, and Print — and a built-in audit trail logs all user activity for traceability and incident investigation.
- Where is FlyPal hosted, and how is it accessed?
FlyPal is a cloud-hosted application, accessible from any internet-enabled device through a standard web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge/IE). It runs within a SOC 2 Type II compliant environment.
- What does CAMO stand for and what does CAMO software do?
CAMO stands for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation. CAMO software, such as FlyPal, manages the ongoing maintenance planning, task scheduling, technical records, and compliance documentation required to keep an aircraft legally airworthy between major overhauls.
- Can FlyPal send or receive data from third-party applications?
Yes. FlyPal integrates with third-party applications through web services, exchanging data in standard XML and JSON formats. This lets operators connect FlyPal to other business systems and automate data flow between platforms.
- Can reports and forms be customized to match our approved formats?
Yes. Reports and forms can be customized to match approved formats, subject to a feasibility and scope assessment for each request.
- What report export formats are supported, and how much can reports be customized before export?
FlyPal supports report export in PDF and Excel formats. Reports can be customized — layout, data fields, filters, and format — based on business requirements, subject to feasibility and scope assessment.
- What's the difference between CAMO and MRO software?
CAMO software manages when maintenance is due and tracks airworthiness compliance (planning side). MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) software manages the execution of that maintenance — work orders, technician sign-off, parts consumption. FlyPal covers both CAMO and MRO functions in one platform.
- Does FlyPal CAMO include Safety Management System (SMS) functionality, or is that separate?
FlyPal CAMO does not include SMS functionality natively. Safety Management is handled by a separate BytzSoft product, SMS neo+, which can be used independently or alongside FlyPal CAMO.
- Can an airline use FlyPal CAMO and SMS neo+ together, or are they independent systems?
Yes, FlyPal CAMO and SMS neo+ are designed to be used together by the same operator, but they are independent systems — an operator can adopt one without the other depending on their requirements.
